We work on brand environments. Being at the intersection of spatial, graphic and multimedia design, we are making brands visible at all levels.

To accommodate this wide range and diversity of projects we work in flexible teams, where the project determines the size and expertise needed. Once started as a casual Sunday gathering, we now work with an international team of artists, architects and designers. The mark of a coffee cup is our logo, since we still meet during the Sunday morning coffee.
Being fair is at the very core of our design beliefs and is the guideline in the way we operate our design practise. It also implicates fairness to future generations as we recognise that we are part of a fragile and interdependent ecosystem.
We believe in simplicity and are rebelling against the growing complexity of today’s society. John Maeda, a MIT Media Lab Professor, describes it beautifully as he states that “simplicity is about subtracting the obvious and adding the meaningful.”
Above all we dare to see things differently. We want to change things and push society forward as we dare to come up with crazy ideas.
R2 AMSTERDAM HEADQUARTERS
Amstelveen (NL), 2024 [completed]. New headquarters for this Amsterdam based menswear brand, in a former garage from the 1950’s. We rebuild the original structure of the garage, where again wooden door and window frames partitioned the offices from the workshop. This resulted in an industrial, yet atmospheric environment, as we reused original fixtures from the garage, like the workbench in the workshop or the washbasin in the toiletroom.
DE POORT PRAKTIJKONDERWIJS BRAND IDENTITY
Den Haag (NL), 2023 [completed]. The freedom to be who you are and to do what you can are the leading brand values in the new corporate identity for De Poort, a practical education facility for those who are better in doing stuff. The yellow ‘poort’ is a direct reference to its name and as such the gate to the future. We were involved in the brand positioning and created a suiting visual identity which we applied to the digital and physical environment.
25 YEARS ZONDAGONTWERPERS
Den Haag (NL), 2023 . On a September Sunday morning, back in 1998, we came up with the idea to become ‘zondagontwerpers’. An agency, dedicated to brand environments, just on Sundays … the day we were off. Throughout the years this idea developed into a growing network of artists and designers who, no longer just on Sundays, joined forces in creating environments for major brands like Van Gils and Björn Borg, crazy stuff like the Kamphuisen Syrup Waffle Factory or the Greenhousing Brand Concept and more recently, challenging Educational environments for the public sector.
DESIGNING FREEDOM, MASTER THESIS PHILOSOPHY
Leiden (NL), 2022 [completed]. The future of the world’s population is urban. People move to the city for opportunities, money and a better life. When we look at this transition from a freedom perspective, instead of the common resource or utility views, you could question whether the city will always provide this better life. Do urban environments provide the freedoms we value, better than rural environments? Read the full text of Designing Freedom!
